Two generations at the pot

Mrs Hoa ran a phở cart in District 3 for twenty years. Her son Duy runs the counter here. The broth recipe made the flight unchanged; the playlist did not survive negotiations.

Everything is made the slow way. Bones roasted before dawn, herbs picked daily, baguettes baked twice a morning down the road. Duy is usually the one calling your number.

Grab a table before the lunch rush.

Pick a day and a sitting and we will hold it. Walk-ins are always welcome too, the queue moves faster than it looks.

Regulars say it better

“The broth tastes like someone has been up since 4am getting it right. Because they have.”
Tom Aldridge, Mount Eden
“Best bánh mì this side of the bridge. The baguette shatters exactly the way it should.”
Linh Trần, Sandringham
“Booked a table for six, in and fed inside the hour. The bún bò Huế has a proper kick.”
Marcus Poe, Balmoral

Good to know

Do I need to book a table?
Walk-ins are always welcome and the queue moves fast. For groups or Friday nights, book ahead using the form above and we will hold it.
Do you have vegetarian options?
Plenty. A mushroom phở chay, tofu bánh mì, fresh rolls, cơm chay and a green papaya salad, all marked on the menu.
How spicy is the food?
Mild by default, with chilli, sambal and fresh bird's-eye on every table. The bún bò Huế has a built-in kick, just ask.
Can I order for pickup?
Yes. Phone ahead and we build it fresh so it is ready when you arrive, bagged with the herbs kept separate.
Do you cater group orders?
We do platters of rolls, bánh mì and rice boxes for offices and parties. Order the day before by phone.
Any allergens to flag?
We use fish sauce and peanuts widely. Tell us about allergies when you book and we will steer you to what is safe.
