Ridge & Beam
Warm timber and slate, with the change itself as the interface.
Renovation is limited by imagination. A homeowner is standing in a dark cramped kitchen trying to picture something they have never seen, and a grid of finished rooms belonging to other houses does not help them do it.
The product is the difference between two states, so the site is built to show a difference rather than a result. A finished room on its own is just a photograph. The same room with its previous version underneath is an argument.
Design decisions
- 01
The before and after slider is the main event
Not a gallery feature at the bottom of a project page. Dragging between the two states is the moment a homeowner starts believing it could happen to their house.
- 02
Each project is told as a chapter
What was wrong, what was decided, what changed. Renovation clients are buying judgement, and judgement only shows in the reasoning.
- 03
Texture bands separate the sections
Timber and slate instead of hairlines. It keeps the material palette of the actual work present on a page that is mostly text.
What is built into it
- Before and after slider
- Chapter-style project stories
- Texture bands

Ridge & Beam is a design study. The business, its address and its reviews are invented so we can show a finished website instead of a flat mockup. Nothing on this page describes a real client of VinaPage.
