Landscaping Website Design Study

Stonefield Landscapes

Lush green and stone, with a portfolio built to carry time.

Landscaping is sold on a transformation that takes two years to look right. Photographs of a garden the week it was finished show bare soil and small plants, which is the least persuasive moment in the entire life of the work.

Time is the problem the design has to solve. Every other trade can photograph the finished job and be done. A garden needs the page to communicate that what is shown is a stage, not the end.

Design decisions

  1. 01

Projects are shown at more than one moment

Installed and grown in. It sets an honest expectation and it turns the slow part, which sounds like a drawback, into evidence of a plan.

  2. 02

    Materials get their own space

Stone, timber, planting. Hard landscaping is where most of the budget goes and it is the part that looks right on day one.

  3. 03

The grid is loose rather than uniform

Gardens are not rectangles. A rigid equal tile grid makes every project look like the same courtyard.

Stonefield Landscapes is a design study. The business, its address and its reviews are invented so we can show a finished website instead of a flat mockup. Nothing on this page describes a real client of VinaPage.
