Electrician Website Design Study

Voltline Electrical

Cobalt and cream utility with the emergency path always open.

Voltline Electrical demo website preview

Electricians are chosen on two things: are you available, and are you actually registered. Most electrical websites lead with a list of services, which is the part the customer already assumes and never the part they are checking.

This is a utility site, not a brand site. The measure of success is how few seconds pass between arriving and knowing whether this person can come out tonight, so nothing is allowed to sit in front of that.

Design decisions

  1. 01

    Registration is shown, not claimed

The number and the body, in the open. Every competitor writes fully registered in body copy, so the claim itself has stopped carrying weight.

  2. 02

The after hours path never leaves the screen

Faults happen in the evening. A contact page that is only reachable from the navigation assumes a calm customer with time to browse.

  3. 03

Services are grouped by who is asking

Homeowner, landlord, business. The same job is a different decision depending on who is paying for it, and grouping by trade category ignores that.

What is built into it

  • Visible registration details
  • Persistent after hours path
  • Audience-grouped services
  • Booking form

Voltline Electrical is a design study. The business, its address and its reviews are invented so we can show a finished website instead of a flat mockup. Nothing on this page describes a real client of VinaPage.
