The Soak House
Onsen minimalism in stone and indigo with very generous spacing.
A bathhouse is unfamiliar to most New Zealanders. The barrier is not price, it is not knowing what happens, what to wear, or whether you go alone. Sites in this category answer none of that and lose people at the door.
Emptiness is the product. A dense page contradicts the promise of a quiet room, so the layout gives every element far more air than a commercial site normally would.
Design decisions
- 01
The sequence of a visit is pinned and walked through
Arrive, change, soak, rest. Showing the order removes the single biggest reason a first timer does not book, which is not knowing how it works.
- 02
One quiet moment holds the page open
A single slow full-width section with almost nothing in it. On a page selling stillness, the restraint is the argument.
- 03
Membership framed as frequency, not discount
Bathhouses work when people come weekly. Selling on price sets up the wrong relationship, so the page sells the rhythm instead.
What is built into it
- Pinned visit sequence
- Full-width quiet moment
- Membership page
- Reservation form
The Soak House is a design study. The business, its address and its reviews are invented so we can show a finished website instead of a flat mockup. Nothing on this page describes a real client of VinaPage.
