Quiz night
Teams of up to six, $5 a head, winner takes a rigger. Books out by Monday in winter.
Paraparaumu, brewery and taproom since 2015
Twelve taps, eight of them ours, in a shed behind the Coastlands car park. The tanks are twenty metres from your glass and the person who brewed it is probably behind the bar.
The board changes as kegs blow. Tap a beer to see the numbers, what it tastes like and whether we can fill a rigger of it to take home.
Tap 02, Hazy IPA
Nelson Sauvin and Citra, soft and juicy with almost no bitterness on the finish. Cloudy on purpose. This is the beer people drive up from Wellington for and it is our best seller by a mile.
Goes with
Buttermilk chicken ribs, or the hot honey pepperoni.
The shed out the back
Dan brews on Tuesdays and Thursdays and you can watch through the window while you drink. Everything is unfiltered and unpasteurised, which is why it tastes better here than it does out of a can three months later.
Spent grain goes to a dairy farm in Te Horo, and the water is Kapiti bore water with nothing added except a bit of gypsum for the pale ales.
