The place
Room to lose an afternoon
Six acres of native bush, and everything on it built to be quiet. Here is what you will find once you leave your shoes at the door.
The mineral pools
Three tiled pools stepped down the slope, each a different heat, all fed from the same seam.
The steam whare
Cedar-lined and thick with eucalyptus and manuka. Ten minutes here resets everything.
The cold plunge
Spring-fed and bracing. In, out, and straight back to the warm water.
The bush deck
Where the day slows down. Loungers, wool blankets, and the tui doing the talking.
The garden kitchen
Lunch grown a few steps away, plated simply and eaten in a robe. On full-day retreats.
The rest lounge
No clocks, low light, herbal tea on tap. Stay as long as your booking runs.
Straight out of the ground
Nothing here is piped in from a plant. The pools fill from a geothermal seam that has warmed this valley for longer than anyone has counted, carrying the silica and sulphur that leave your skin soft and your head quiet.
- 38 to 41°C
- At the source, never reheated.
- Silica and sulphur
- The minerals you can feel on your skin.
- Refilled daily
- Clean water, no chemicals added.
The water has been rising warm through this valley for centuries. We just built somewhere quiet to meet it.
